Monthly highlights
- “GEAR Get Certified”: This massive overall program surge in July 2026 perfectly reflects the aftermath of the first GEAR program that concluded in mid-June. After candidates finished their studies and utilized their free exam vouchers, we see a huge wave of new certified professionals entering the records.
- Overall program growth surges: Jumped from 6,910 additions in June to 11,050 in July, achieved an impressive 1.61% overall portfolio growth rate, which represents a broad summer market recovery.
- Foundational certs, GAIL growth spikes back: Jumped from 2,497 to 3,902, captured 35.31% of total additions, remains the top absolute growth driver.
- CDL growth remains flat: Added 692 new professionals in July, minor increase from June’s 667, percentage of monthly total dropped to 6.26%.
- Associate certs, ACE additions double again: Surged from 1,092 to 2,235, accounted for 20.23% of all July additions, represents the strongest associate-level performance.
- ADP downward trend breaks: Added 237 new professionals in July, June recorded the lowest-ever addition at 181, monthly growth rate bounced up to 2.79%.
- AGWA maintains strong growth: Climbed to 285 additions in July, up from June’s 220, achieved a high 5.42% MoM growth rate.
- Professional certs, PCA additions nearly triple: Surged from 761 to 2,192, represented 19.84% of all new monthly certifications, massive rebound following earlier deceleration.
- PCD growth rises slightly: Incremental increase to 145 in July, up from June’s 128, represents 1.31% of total monthly additions.
- PCNE additions slide back: Dropped from 110 to 82, percentage of monthly total fell to 0.74%, bucked the broader program recovery.
- PCDOE experiences steady rebound: Increased to 178 from 147, continues to recover from March and May lows, MoM growth rate reached 0.96%.
- PCDBE additions dip slightly: Slid to 100 new certifications in July, June recorded 111 additions, maintained a steady 1.08% MoM growth rate.
- Data certs, PDE growth drops significantly: Fell from 496 to 421, percentage of total additions halved to 3.81%, one of the only major exams to decline.
- PMLE growth starts recovering: Increased to 266 additions, up from June’s post-overhaul low of 223, still far below early 2026 peaks.
- PCSE additions bounce up: Climbed from 100 to 120, ended a consecutive multi-month decline, captured 1.09% of monthly additions.
- PSOE maintains fastest growth: Reached 195 additions, up from 177, recorded a stellar, portfolio-leading 7.77% MoM growth rate.
Trend analysis
- Long-term macro cooling: Monthly new certifications peaked at 21,048 in December 2025; steadily declined through June to 6,910 before a July resurgence to 11,050; overall monthly portfolio growth rate dropped from 3.53% to 1.61%; likely caused by normalizing post-Next hype, candidate hesitation during curriculum overhauls, and the conclusion of structured GEAR cohorts.
- GAIL’s absolute dominance: GAIL remained the undisputed absolute volume leader across all months; added a massive cumulative 42,486 new credentials since December 2025; consistently captured between 35% and 51% of the entire program’s monthly additions; driven by intense corporate interest in GenAI strategy and a low non-technical barrier to entry.
- ACE and PCA resilience: ACE and PCA represented the portfolio’s core technical backbone; together accounted for nearly 40% of all additions in July 2026; both rebounded dramatically in July after multi-month declines; driven by stable long-term infrastructure demand and GEAR training program cycles.
- ADP’s structural decline: ADP fell continuously for six straight months from December to June; additions dropped from 1,034 to just 181 before stabilizing in July; its share of monthly program additions shrank from 4.91% to 2.14%; likely caused by cooling interest in entry-level data roles and candidates prioritizing professional ML engineering tracks instead.
- PSOE’s rapid rise: PSOE achieved the fastest cumulative relative growth; total population surged from just 281 in September 2025 to 2,704 in July 2026; consistently achieved the highest monthly percentage growth rates of over 7.5% in mid-2026; propelled by rising enterprise cybersecurity threat landscapes and a strong market demand for active threat hunters.
- ML versus Data Engineer: PMLE consistently grew faster in percentage terms than PDE; PMLE maintained steady MoM growth rates between 1.1% and 4.3% in 2026; PDE growth stagnated at or below 0.8% MoM from March 2026 onward; driven by shifting developer focus toward agentic AI deployment and massive enterprise adoption of model monitoring.
